Well got a nice deal from Krislewis3 on some awesome Manzanita wood. Had to rehab the peacock tank but it's beginning to have the look I've been shooting for. (At least for now...lol) Here's some latest pics of tank and some of my fish:

Still a work in progress but I think getting close. Any ideas?

Wow, that is one beautiful tank. I love that background. It makes the fish pop out and look very at home in the tank picture. I also love the wood. I it adds so much to the organic nature of the tank.  The  feeling I get is that I'm snorkeling...  great

Thanks Johnny and DL for the kind words. I'm really happy how it's turning out. The pics don't do the wood justice though.
I had read some posts by Kris saying she was having difficulty with a fuzz growing on the wood. I did see some but not enough to be worrisome though. I don't know if the BN Pleco's are keeping mowed down or just not established in my tank yet. I read also kind of an issue with Manzanita, but that it is not really a problem with most of the folks writing about it. The wood has been in the tank close to 3 weeks now and (knock on wood...excuse the pun) I have not seen unsightly issues. It does float a bit so I had to weight it down.

The branchy piece of wood in these pics:

sprouted some fuzz and it really looked gross for a while.  I ignored it and it soon went away.  The snails might have consumed it or maybe the tank balanced out and it could not survive.  At any rate, I think the gradual increase of organics in the water helped.

Nice pics and info Deb. Thanks for sharing. So far knock on wood (pardon the pun) no fuzz. Had a small bit which worried me a little but either eent away or was eaten. .

The wood looks really nice Ron. Those rocks sure do look pretty familiar haha. Your peacocks are looking really healthy as well.
