I wanted to start a discussion about shrimp care but not sure how to. I do have some decent information but need to dig them back up Razz.

I'd love to see something about starting a colony, i.e., how to set up a tank for them, what they like in terms of water parameters, what to feed, PWC schedule (do you put a stocking over the end of a siphon hose so you don't suck them up?) and that kind of thing. Do they always do best in a planted tank?

I know you can post some valuable info!

I'd like to see this thread take off with some personal experiences. A couple of photos, to get things started, a tank set-up to show the way it's done.  Wink

I'm about to set up a new shrimp tank in a week or two. I will try to document every step of the way. Expect more pics and a new thread.

I have some RCS from Neo. I have a sponge filter on the intake tube of the HOB pump, in addition to the pump filter. The shrimp sometimes climb onto the sponge filter to forage.
