This is my son's first fish tank. He has picked out the ornaments and the fish and decorated the back of the tank in his own unique style. He cut out rocks, pants, and bubbles out of construction paper and stuck it on the back of the tank.

This is a 20 gallon long fresh water tank with no heater. It will mainly be a gold fish tank.

I understand goldfish tend to eat plants....its a trial run for java fern.

He has also named the 3 fish that are in there: Redspart, Goldspart, and Cow Color.

Enjoy the pics:

Please welcome your son to the hobby for me... Laughing  How old is he?

he is six, but is very responsible. Tonight I told him to feed the fish and I watched him....he did a great job (not too much) and he turned the fish tank light off before bed without being told. So I hope we have a winner!

Wow six, that is too cool. I was around 8 went I got my Goldfish. I still remember it. I was around 10 when I got my first 5 gallon tank after doing well with the Goldfish. You must be very proud that he is eager to share your hobby... Smile

I think it's fantastic!  The cutout construction paper is very apt with the blue gravel, and I kid you not.  The whole thing has an air of  fantasy which goes well with goldfish.  Very Happy  This is a great project.
