PostSubject: Rcs Colony update   Wed Apr 02, 2014 6:03 pm

First topic message reminder :

I finally had some time to share this update. I have been extremely busy researching about shrimp, work, breeding, planning and etc. Long story short I'm working on it and its been going great. I have came across some really nice videos to share with the guide.

New tank- I have finally decided to take thing things up a notch and start a Fire red colony with my new setup. I already have really nice fire red female that I'm going to move once the tank is up and running.

Feeding frenzy

PostSubject: Update on my RCS colony    Sun Apr 12, 2015 8:21 am

Before

Random shot

Now

Lighting
3 Clamp lights with only 14 watts

I have been running this tank since December with 3 big filter & a power head with pre sponge filter for water clarity. One on the left which is completely covered by moss. The middle one is full of moss as well,  but you can see the dark part of the sponge filter. And the third sponge filter is still visible but the moss is starting to take over. All I have in there is my Red Cherry Shrimp colony which are starting to multiply. I always prefer over filtering than under filtering even it's just shrimp.

Wow! What an explosion, lol. The tank looks very, very happy. What bulbs are in the lamps?

My angels spawned again, both pairs, but one has eggs on the background and the other on the driftwood this time.

Whenever the next leaf spawning happens I'll call you, and you can bring me some RCS if you've got extras. I'd love to put some in my 5g planted tank. Everyone has Neogeo shrimp but me and I'm feeling left out! Laughing

It's great to see this update! I love the red-topped plant in the second pic. Is it Cabomba?

Hey! Liz, I believe they are 14 watt Day light if I'm not mistaken. I think I have enough shrimp to start  sharing again Smile. I'm still out on vacation, but will be back on the 16th & hopefully the pair will have had laid eggs by the time I get back Smile. I'm looking forward to raising them Laughing.
