PostSubject: A few of Ron's Angelfish   Thu Apr 02, 2015 9:33 pm

Ron is such an awesome member of CVAS, and I am very saddened about his news. That being said, he provided me an opportunity to take on some of his angelfish. I have contemplated keeping angelfish for a long time and the timing was good for this transfer. I am super excited about getting these fish, but I battle with guilt of excitement while a friend is dealing with some heavy stuff. Here is my first picture of the angels.

This was only a few hours after transfer, so I think they need some time to get back their full color. I will post more pictures here as the fish grow and mature. Also, my tank is never as clear as you professional keepers, I have micro bubbles because of my filters, but I like to think that the water is well oxygenated Smile

Thanks again Ron!

Gorgeous! Or they will be when they settle in. I had a chance to see many of Ron's angelfish in person on Wednesday afternoon, and know how brilliant they are. Good luck with them!
Did you by any chance take the blue ones?

Forgive me: I'm not an Angelfish keeper - what type of angelfish are these?

They are lovely...

3 of them are silver angels and 1 of them is a half-black. The two in the photo are silver angels.

Thanks for posting, David - you take WONDERFUL pictures!

Yes, we're all sorry to see Ron leaving the area, but at least he can still check in here from his new locale! I hope he'll be able to do so.

I saw some of his remaining fish this weekend, and his angels are lovely. I was especially impressed with the blue ones that are not solid blue, but still have the zebra type coloration, with a sheen of blue that is just stunning. His fish are all super healthy and happy, too.

I was able to get some gold pristella (aka "x-ray") tetras from him Saturday, along with a stray emperor tetra, and a stray bleeding heart tetra, and they've all settled in nicely.
