About This Program: “JRAS Summer Cookout Social:” This meeting will be a Summer Cookout Social at the site of the Koi Pond that Jose Oseguera designed and our membership largely built back in 2014. We will be holding a (very) short meeting, but more importantly, HOLD OUR USUAL AUCTION! We plan on having, at minimum: fried chicken, grilled burgers and hotdogs, chips, potato salad, fruit, side dishes, sodas, beer, etc.  Should you want to bring any other type food or adult beverages, feel free, but nothing at all is required.

About This Month’s Meeting: As usual, there will be a prize drawing at this meeting for our members. See Chuck McClung, Membership Chair, for details. The JRAS Membership Committee is usually at our meeting a few minutes early for those who want to pay their dues for a 2016 Membership ($20/year/household) and be eligible for the prize drawing at this meeting. As always, our meetings are open to fish loving visiting members and non-members alike, so bring a friend- let us know in advance if you can so your friend gets plenty of food!

About our Monthly Auction:  We recently changed our auction policy accommodate not only donated auction items but also to allow for 70% member / 30% JRAS and 50% non-member / 50% JRAS profit splits for items that participants want to sell via our auction. We have found that in a very short time that the number of auction items has gone up in quantity and quality due to the policy change. So keep bringing in great items! You can now make a little money so that you can pour it back into your addiction! As always, don’t forget to bring any donated items for the auction or as raffle items, if you have any to spare. Bring your spare plants, fish, fish food, drift wood, or hard goods that you would like to auction. Just let the auctioneer know if the item is for a profit split or donated. Most of our profits, just as many other fish clubs, goes toward paying for speaker travel and accommodation along with internal organization costs, etc.  For individuals bringing in fish or plants, make sure that you bring as much detail on the species of fish or plant as possible.
