Very pretty fish! Do let us know if you get some babies out of them, because you'd have plenty of folks wanting some Very Happy

Jen got the fry from me at the meeting. I still have a few fry and the adults I would like to get rid of.

A desktop tank! They're so cute! I'm jealous, yet again, lol. Seriously, anytime you guys wanna trade apartments, just let me know. What size tank are they in?

Right now, a 5 gallon. They grow to about 1.5" so it won't sustain them for their lifetime. Eventually they will be upgraded to a ten.

Another type closely related to them are the "daffodils," better known as Brichardi. These are the true fairy cichlids - but they grow to about the better part of 5". I wanted them initially, but I preferred the fact these guys stick to the smaller size. They do, however, for the time being, make an excellent desktop tank:-)

Which, by the way, is a marineland 5 gallon that I got on sale at petsmart for only 40 bucks. It has the led light and I bought some plants and put in black sand for the substrate with some shells for the little guys to hide in. It's a great tank, I highly recommend it as a desktop setup.

I believe one of my old supervisors had the brichardi, not 100% on that, but that's what they looked like. I just love cichlids with the streamlined bodies and dainty fins like this.

Oh man me too...they call them the princess fish in either sweden or switzerland...one of those neutral S countries haha. I would have to agree with their assessment!
