First topic message reminder :

Maybe its not so central but at least I'm in Virginia.

My name is Rubie and I just got my first aquarium. It's a salt water tank with random fish I find in it (I crab for a living). I have 3 feather blennys, a baby gar, and 3 oysters. I also have no clue what I'm doing. I kept my 2 original feather blennys in an unused soft crab float (crabs kill them). They looked cold. So i bought a tank and moved them in the shed. They eat softcrab legs and love love love bloodworms.

Im also an artist and equine/canine trainer in the afternoons. I have no idea why i have fish other than these little guys are really sweet. Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks Robby Smile I think its turned out alright. We used to callFeather Blennys oyster toads because we always found them in oysters. I figured if they like hiding in the oyster shells on their own I might as well give them what they like. They are such sweet fish.

Yesterday I added some gravel and re arranged some. And this morning I found the gar dead. His head was inside of a barnicle...I feel really bad about it because he probably wouldn't have died so soon if I left him out in the Rappahannock

Sorry about the gar Crying or Very sad. You can't prove it would of lived longer. Way more predators in the wild then in your tank. You may of extended its life. This is one of the upsides to keeping a locals tank, the fish are free. I know it sucks to lose any fish but that will happen in this hobby, now you can examine what was done wrong and take another shot.
