I picked these up on Saturday from Mark. They are rubbernose or "bulldog" plecos, Chaetostoma milesi, L-187a.

They are fighting in the above photo and here they are at it again:

Good thing Mark bagged them up separately for me. They were at it as soon as they went into the acclimation tub. No real damage done and now they are in a 75 gallon tank and have picked out separate territories.

This pic shows off their really wide mouths. For their size they have the biggest mouth of any pleco.

C. milesi is not that common in the hobby. I've kept Chaetostoma species since 2004 and have not seen this one for sale in the shops. Usually C. dorsale and C. formosa are available.

Cichlid Solutions is selling these for $9.99 each and if you are a CVAS member you'll get a 15% discount.
Very Happy

Vince, they ARE awesome. They are or can be aggressive with each other. The key to keeping them calmly is to provide each one with its own flat rock. They will soon separate themselves and stay separated.

They get along with other plecos, even small ones. I've seen Chaetostoma and Otocinclus sharing the same zucchini slice without fussing.

Let's just say the "bulldog" name suits them. They are calm and reasonable for the most part but will not hesitate to fight if need be.

Ben, on the day I went there were a number of different plecos at Cichlid Solutions. Cool
There were six of the C. milesi and if I'd had a 20 long set up with a powerful current I would have gotten all six! It's a matter of being prepared for the opportunity.
Very Happy
