First topic message reminder :

Playing with the idea of a 40 long tank , since cichlids say near the bottom and the longer footprint , anyways got a few questions so here they go.

1.stocking suggestions.? Probably Going to go dwarf , yellows, rams, peacocks ex....

2.As far as filtration goes what should I get? This will be in a bedroom so don't want anything too loud.

3.lighting - what would you recommend ?

4. Substrate- I've used play sand before its ok , but wanna try something different what's out there?

Ok picking up a 40 gallon long tank, glass top and a 200 watt e o jäger heater , and a aquaclear 70 filter to start .

**ran into a slight snag tank doesnt come with a stand so it looks like I'm gonna have to build one , don't really want to use 2x4 is there a lighter way to build a frame for one ? I've seen some 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 square lumber would that work for a frame then sheet over that with plywood?
