I had a really aggressive Aratus. So I took him out of the tank and traded him at the lfs for this nice Eartheater.

Love the eartheaters! He will be much happier with more like him - they are pretty social and peaceful.

Thanks BigVince. Thanks Liz for the info. I will have to look around for some more. For some reason I never have liked just having 1 of any fish in my tanks.

Sometimes you have a more peaceful tank if you stick to one of certain species, since adding more creates competition or breeding behaviors that can tear apart a tank, but geos are an exception. They do get big, though! Is it G. surinamensis?

Koolaid, it's gorgeous! Good luck with this interesting new fish. Very Happy

Liz can tell you that I was very tempted by one of your fish's cousins once. It was Satanoperca leucosticta, the one without the dark spot on the flank. What I liked best about it was its look-down nose (love that!) and the blue-green spangly flash as it went by. Beautiful! I may still go this route yet. *lol* Need a good size tank, and some good advice.
Cool I'll be watching this thread for updates.

Thanks Deb!!! I like the blue-green spangly flash too. The pic really dont do that part of the fish any justice at all. I hope I can take a pic that shows that part of him sometime soon. I havent seen to many Geo's really. But I do like them, and the pics I have seen. I would have loved to have picked up 1 or 2 from Liz, but I missed out. :-(

As my group settles in and approaches maturity I may need to remove a few more, so I'll let you know!
