Has anybody kept or is keeping killifish? I discovered the American Killifish Association website and a Facebook page devoted to them. But I'm most interested in any feedback I can get from CVAS members. West African? North American?

The only killies I have kept were a pair of Florida flagfish (Jordanella floridae.) For the record, they were a great pair, very devoted, and very aggressive with other fish. They loved their bush of Java moss and once that grew in they finally left the corys in peace. My pair was wild-caught in Florida.

The AKA is a great website and the photos are stunning. If you can't find anyone on here to talk killifish with I'll hook you up with my friend Susan. She is very knowledgeable.

That would be great Deb. I would like to bounce a few ideas off of someone for a project down the road. I'm always thinking, sometimes too much.

People have accused me of "overthinking"! *lol*

I sent a note to Susan telling her of your interest. Will let you know when I hear back. Very Happy

Sent you a pm. According to Susan, what is comes down to is mop spawners and peat spawners vs plant spawners. Mop spawners and peat spawners - pull and incubate eggs. Very time comsuming and a lot of work. Plant spawners - hardly any work at all beyond seeing to the water parameters. Anyway, read the pm and see how you want to proceed. Very Happy
